Coupe and convertible only, built around the S54 straight-six, which is the reason this generation gets talked about the way it does. It is widely treated as the last M3 before electronics and turbocharging changed the character of the car — the hydraulic steering and naturally aspirated power delivery are what people mean by that. The CSL variant is a separate and much more expensive conversation.
