Rivian R1T

Rivian got the R1T to customers in October 2021, beating Ford and GM to a delivered electric pickup. The launch version used four motors, one per wheel, for a combined 835 hp — a layout that gives per-wheel torque control off-road rather than just straight-line speed, though the promised Tank Turn feature was not ready for the first trucks. The flat skateboard chassis is what makes the packaging work, freeing up the front trunk and the gear tunnel behind the cab.
