Jeep Wrangler JL

The JL is where Jeep made the Wrangler civil to drive without giving up what people buy one for — the doors and roof still come off, the axles are still solid, and the aftermarket catalogue still fits. It came in around 90 kg lighter than the JK and moved to recirculating ball steering, which improved the on-road manners that had always been the weak point. It remains the default starting point for a built rig in North America.
