Scenic Byway 12

124 paved miles of Utah SR-12 between Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef, crossing canyons, plateaus and valleys that range from 4,000 to 9,000 feet. The route includes the exposed Hogback ridge above Calf Creek and a long climb over Boulder Mountain. Elevation swings mean the upper sections can hold snow and ice well into spring while the lower canyons are hot and dry. Services between towns are sparse.
