Mulholland Highway crosses the Santa Monica Mountains in unincorporated Los Angeles County, reaching Pacific Coast Highway through the Malibou Lake and Seminole Springs communities and passing Cornell, home of the Rock Store. The county describes it as generally one lane in each direction with multiple curves and embankments, no sidewalks, and little room for shoulders or parking. The stretches from Pacific Coast Highway to Kanan Dume Road and from Cornell Road to Las Virgenes Road are County Scenic Highways. A 2.22-mile section closed after damage from the 2018 Woolsey Fire and later storms reopened on December 2, 2025, with new traffic-safety measures under the county's Vision Zero program.
