SupercarsEditorial ranking

The turbo supercar shortlist

Five boosted exotics we would build an editorial feature around.

By TUNERS Staff · 5 picks

How we ranked them

Ranked for distinct engineering and design stories in factory form. This is not a tuning recommendation, a reliability comparison or an estimate of aftermarket power potential.

The order reflects TUNERS’ editorial judgment. Sources below support model facts and development history; they do not endorse the ranking.

  1. McLaren 720S

    The modern McLaren reference

The 720S leads our feature shortlist because its shape is immediately distinct from the cars around it. We would center the story on the complete factory package and the way the body presents its technical identity.

  2. Ferrari 488 Pista

    The special-series chapter

The Pista earns second because Ferrari documents a direct transfer of development from its racing programs. That makes it a compelling feature subject before any owner adds parts; the factory choices already supply a substantial story.

  3. Porsche 911 GT2 RS (991.2)

    A turbo 911 with a focused brief

The GT2 RS takes third for a purposeful interpretation of the 911. We would frame it around that identity and its documented track-development ecosystem, keeping factory specifications separate from any later Manthey-equipped configuration.

  4. Ferrari F8 Tributo

    The later V8 interpretation

The F8 adds a different Ferrari chapter, with the manufacturer describing aero and engine-heat management influenced by the Pista. We like it as a feature on how a technical theme evolves into a different road-car presentation.

  5. McLaren 765LT

    The sharper visual alternative

The Longtail completes the five as the more overt statement within this McLaren pairing. Its place here is about the editorial contrast with the 720S, not a claim that either is the universally better car.
