SupercarsEditorial ranking

The naturally aspirated dream garage

V10, V8 and flat-six cars with engine character at the center of the story.

How we ranked them

Ranked for the distinct engine identities we would want in a five-car editorial garage. Sound and desirability are subjective; the sources establish the factory engine configurations.

The order reflects TUNERS’ editorial judgment. Sources below support model facts and development history; they do not endorse the ranking.

  1. Lexus LFA

    The V10 centerpiece

The original LFA gets the center space for its naturally aspirated V10 and the depth of the engineering story behind it. We would build the feature around that identity, giving equal attention to the car’s shape and mechanical detail.

  2. Ferrari 458 Speciale

    The focused V8 chapter

The Speciale takes second as our Ferrari choice for this engine-led garage. Its appeal lies in a complete factory special, so the story would concentrate on what Ferrari changed around the V8 rather than treating power as the only subject.

  3. Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992)

    The flat-six interruption

The GT3 RS adds a naturally aspirated flat-six to the lineup. We place it third for the contrast between its engine character and its very visible aerodynamic brief; both deserve room in the feature.

  4. Lamborghini Huracán STO

A different kind of V10 statement

The STO shares the cylinder count of the LFA while expressing a very different design philosophy. That contrast wins it a place: the engine belongs within an overtly motorsport-inspired body rather than being the only point of interest.

  5. Audi R8 V10 performance RWD

The quieter shape with the big engine

The R8 finishes the garage as a less visually elaborate V10 car. We like that balance for a collection that would otherwise be dominated by aggressive aero, making it a worthwhile subject in its own right.
