Highland Scenic Highway

43 paved miles through a wild and undeveloped part of the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia. The route traverses a narrow, steep-walled valley and then climbs onto high rolling mountain terrain capped with red spruce, reaching some of the highest road elevations in the state. Overlooks are frequent and traffic is light. The high parkway section is not maintained for winter travel and closes under snow.
